Form the very first release of the very first Warcraft game in November of 2004, Warcraft has broken records left, right and center. And most of all it has won the gaming hearts of millions of dedicated gamers around the world. This is why World of Warcraft preorder sales went sky high when its release was announced.

Fans of the previous versions of Warcraft were convinced that this new game could not but fail to come through for them. This was in November 23rd of 2004, and the fans were proven right. The millions of people who got a World of Warcraft preorder version were rewarded for their loyalty and dedication to the game. World of Warcraft lived up to their expectations in every way.

Following on the heels of this brilliant victory, another marketing masterpiece was launched. This time it was World of Warcraft: the Board Game. This particular World of Warcraft preorder promotional strategy was coordinated together with the online retailers of the World of Warcraft board game, Fantasy Flight Games.

This World of Warcraft preorder promotion featured more than just the board game as well. For the dedicated fans who were willing to go the distance and place a World of Warcraft preorder, they were able to order one of sixteen different bronze World of Warcraft heroes.

These were Rare Edition figures of which there were only 300 sets made. Needless to say this was also a huge success. This World of Warcraft preorder promotion was held in late October of 2005 until the end of November of 2005.

Following on the heels of this latest success Blizzard then proceeded to announce its next World of Warcraft preorder promotion. This went very far in the way of generating much interest in all echelons of the game playing world. Blizzard was releasing an expansion pack for World of Warcraft, and it was called World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade.

As far as promotions went this last World of Warcraft preorder promotion was to prove to be the most spectacular of all. Interest in this game was rife, and a personal milestone of over 8 million players worldwide was reached in January of 2007, days before the expansion pack was released.

There was no doubt in anyone’s minds at this point that the Burning Crusade expansion pack was going to be a personal triumph for World of Warcraft and Blizzard. World of Warcraft preorder promotions showed that enthusiasm for the Burning Crusade expansion pack was more than promising.

This was proved beyond a shadow of a doubt at midnight on January 16, 2007 when it was released in the United States, Europe and Canada.

This worldwide release confirmed, and went beyond, what the World of Warcraft preorder promotions had predicted. The World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade expansion pack sold over a total of 2.4 million copies worldwide in the first 24 hour period, breaking any and all previous records for such games.

What Happens if you Lose your World of Warcraft CD Keys?

Muna wa Wanjiru asked:

If you have bought any of the World of Warcraft games you will find that the activation key for the game is to be found on the CD itself. These are generally known to all and sundry as World of Warcraft CD keys.

These World of Warcraft CD keys along with the CD’s are the ones that people are trying to circumvent by using Warcraft cracks. This will enable them to be mobile with their Warcraft games without having to take along their World of Warcraft CD keys or CD’s.

This is however, not a recommended practice as Blizzard, the creators of all things Warcraft, do not smile upon this. What happens if you lose your World of Warcraft CD keys? There have been many people who have asked this question in the many different Warcraft forums, and the answer is always simple.

If you have your original Warcraft game CD then you should be able to find the World of Warcraft CD keys on the CD itself, as you might remember if you cast yourself back to those pre-Warcraft days when you first bought and installed your game. If you’ve lost your original game CD then you’ve also unfortunately lost your World of Warcraft CD keys as well.

World of Warcraft CD keys can also be used for guest users. These users won’t have a regular World of Warcraft account but will instead play using a guest account. This means that they will need to enter active World of Warcraft CD keys every time they want to log in to play.

These World of Warcraft CD keys will each cost a certain amount and give you a set time of playing hours. Once you have exhausted these hours you will then need to buy World of Warcraft CD keys again to activate your guest account.

Normally when you purchase World of Warcraft CD keys you will be able to play for about 30 days. This is sometimes referred to as “free” playing time. This is of course different from the World of Warcraft demo version which you can download and play for 10 days free of charge.

With World of Warcraft CD keys after your time has run out, you will then need to purchase what is referred to as a time card, or a gametime card. These are prepaid cards which allow you to play World of Warcraft for a limited number of days. This is not the same as obtaining World of Warcraft CD keys, and you will need to have an active World of Warcraft account to do this.

The Lure That Collectible Warcraft Figures Will Have on the Warcraft Fanatic

Muna wa Wanjiru asked:

It’s official – Warcraft in all of its forms is one of the best games to have ever been brought into existence. This is amply supported by the large number of players who grace the world of Azeroth not to mention the large number of the games which have sold over the years. And when you add to this beautiful melee such a thing as collectible Warcraft figures you have pure genius on your hands.

This is admittedly one of their better moves, as fans of Warcraft, past and present will all rush to grab their very own Warcraft figures. To someone who has not played Warcraft before it might be bewildering to see so many grown men and women immersed in a fantasy where they have to go around looting, plundering and fighting.

It is unfortunately not something that can be adequately explained until you play the game and get Warcraft in your blood. When you do, you will surely understand the lure that collectible Warcraft figures will have on the Warcraft fanatic.

This even applies to Warcraft members who have hung up their fighting swords, put away their potions and spells, and have instead returned to the mundane world of Earth. Owning delightful memorabilia only enhances the entire Warcraft experience for everyone concerned.

To begin with though, these collectible Warcraft figures were introduced to the playing public through Fantasy Flight Games, with World of Warcraft: the Board Game. They offered to their fans who pre-ordered the board game, a chance to get 1 of 16 Rare Edition Bronze figures of their favorite Warcraft figures.

Since there was such a tremendous demand for these figures, Fantasy Flight Games then got together with Blizzard (the creators of Warcraft) to bring to the world a Limited Edition set of these same 16 Warcraft figures previously released as Rare Editions.

There was however, to be a difference in these Limited Edition Warcraft figures in that, as opposed to the black felt which lined the base of the Rare Edition Warcraft figures, there would be a green felt lining instead.

And on the rim of the circular disk on which each of the figures are standing, the Limited Edition Warcraft figures will sport a “ULTD” mark where the Rare Edition Warcraft figures have no markings whatsoever.

And the beauty of this lies in the fact that, while only 300 sets of the Rare Edition Warcraft figures were cast, the Limited Edition sets will be cast an unlimited number of times. And if that seems confusing, read on.

This unlimited Limited Edition casting of the sets of Warcraft figures will only happen for the time frame of one year in which they will be made available to the public. Also, these Limited Edition Warcraft figures can only be bought through the Fantasy Flight Games online store until March 31st 2007. And therein lies it’s limited availability.
